SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
1
SUPPORT GATHERINGS: We currently do not have a regular support group meeting. We will be determining the needs for the Family Readiness Group and will share the dates and times of our meetings once they have been established.
2
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Each of our communities play an important role in our every day lives. We will provide families with opportunities to give back to these communities.
3
YOUTH EVENTS: Our youth sometimes have a difficult time understanding why their family member(s) are away. These events will allow children to make things for their family member(s) that are away.
Our goal is to be sure your family is taken care of and you have what is needed to make your lives a little bit easier. In support of this, we will be doing various activities that we invite you and your family members to attend. Your Sailor does not need to be deployed in order for you to take advantage of these services or attend the activities that are planned.
Families outside of the Port Hueneme, California area will be included in communications. The Family Readiness Group is also a great way to stay involved and meet other families in your local area. For more information, please contact Chief Frank Verdugo.
FOCUS on the Go! is an educational app that helps families become stronger in the face of challenges.
Navy Life provides you with information at your finger tips! Categories such as housing, deployment, recreation, Fleet and Family Support Services, and more.
NFAAS (iTunes/Android) provides information such as emergency check lists, phone numbers and websites for resources, preparing for a disaster, etc.
